HG Infra Engineering swings into Q1 loss, revenue falls 26 pc

Mumbai, Aug 12 (IANS) H.G. Infra Engineering Limited on Wednesday swung into a loss in the first quarter of FY27, even as its EBITDA rose sharply, helped by a significant improvement in operating margins.

The Jaipur-based infrastructure company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 45.1 crore for the quarter, compared with a net profit of Rs 98.8 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations declined 25.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,101 crore from Rs 1,482 crore.

Despite the decline in revenue, HG Infra’s EBITDA increased 17 per cent to Rs 304 crore from Rs 260 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin expanded to 27.6 per cent from 17.5 per cent, marking an improvement of 1,010 basis points.

The result announced after market hours. The shares of the company were trading at Rs 557.00, up by Rs 9.20

In the last five days, the stock has delivered a positive return of Rs 10.85 or 1.99 per cent.

H.G. Infra Engineering, founded in 2003 and headquartered in Jaipur, is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company with a presence across roads, highways, railways, metro systems, solar energy and power transmission projects. The company executes projects through EPC as well as Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) routes.

Led by Chairman and Managing Director Harendra Singh, the company has operations across more than 13 states and has built a sizeable construction fleet and workforce. Its core business includes the development of expressways, national highways and bridges, along with railway and metro infrastructure.

The company has also expanded into green energy and power infrastructure, including solar installations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and power transmission and distribution projects. HG Infra has been listed on both the NSE and BSE since 2018 under the ticker HGINFRA.
