Jaipur, March 6 (IANS) The baraat procession of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s elder son, Kartikeya Chouhan, at Umaid Bhavan Palace in Rajasthan, was graced with the presence of many VIPs.
In a short while, he will exchange wedding vows with Amanat Bansal, daughter of Anupam Bansal, director of Liberty Shoes, at the iconic Umaid Bhawan Palace. The grand three-day wedding celebration has witnessed the presence of several VVIP guests, including prominent BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
On Thursday evening, Kartikeya’s wedding procession (Baraat) was a lively affair. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, accompanied by his younger son Kunal, danced with great enthusiasm. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also joined in, adding to the celebratory mood.
During the sangeet ceremony, Shivraj was seen dancing with his wife, Sadhana Singh, to the song “Chand Sa Roshan Chehra,” while she later performed with her two daughters-in-law on “Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari.” The bride and groom also performed a couple dance, mesmerising the guests.
Speaking about her dance performance, Sadhana Singh revealed: “I prepared this dance in just one hour. We hardly get time, but today is my husband’s birthday, and it’s also our son’s sangeet. So, we decided to dance!” As the couple started dancing, Shivraj humorously asked what he was supposed to do, making everyone burst into laughter.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat arrived at Umaid Bhawan Palace for the wedding, accompanied by MP Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar.
Other dignitaries, including Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang, also participated in the grand procession.
Before departing from Jodhpur, Scindia spoke about the expansion of Jodhpur Airport, stating: “During my tenure as Aviation Minister, the design for this airport was finalised. Soon, the construction will be completed, and it will be built in a grand manner.”
He highlighted Jodhpur’s rich historical and cultural significance, expressing confidence that the new airport design would honor India’s heritage.
Scindia arrived in Jodhpur earlier in the afternoon with his wife and attended the wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace before heading back.
The wedding has attracted several high-profile leaders, business tycoons, and industry figures, making it one of the most talked-about events in political and social circles.
