Tesseract land deal linked to Telangana CM’s brother bigger scam than MUDA, claims BRS

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (IANS) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President, K.T. Rama Rao, on Tuesday alleged that the Tesseract land deal linked to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s brother is bigger than the MUDA scam of Karnataka.

K.T. Rama Rao told media persons that Tesseract Advanced Systems of Chief Minister’s brother Kondal Reddy was allotted government land worth ₹200 crore.

“How can a company with just ₹1 lakh in paid-up capital and reportedly zero employees get 5 acres of land worth ₹200 crore for ₹7 crore,” he asked.

He also wanted to know who exactly is Tesseract Advanced Systems, and what are its financial credentials.

“If Kondal Reddy has no connection with Tesseract, why was he presented as its Chairman and why did he represent the company at meetings,” asked K.T. Rama Rao.

K.T. Rama Rao demanded a probe into the roles of CM Revanth Reddy, his brother, the concerned Ministers and officials.

Terming Tesseract Advanced Systems a ‘shell company’, he presented before media what he termed as ‘data’ gathered by BRS. According to the company’s website, its phone number is ‘123456789’. “This shows what kind of company is this,” K.T. Rama Rao said.

K.T. Rama Rao cited the annual report of the company to say that it has no employee. The company’s address is a flat in Patancheru in Sangareddy district.

K.T. Rama Rao also showed photographs of Kondal Reddy attending the strategic forum of the US-India Business Forum. “He attended the meeting as the chairman of Tesseract Advanced Systems,” he claimed.

The former minister alleged that prime land worth ₹200 crore snatched from farmers in Raviral near Future City was allotted to Chief Minister’s brother for just ₹7 crore.

“Tomorrow, if another startup forms a company with one lakh rupees equity, will you give them land worth Rs 200–300 crore just like that without following any due process? Or are there different laws and different rules for your brothers,” he asked the Chief Minister.

He made it clear that BRS will not let the government off the hook, and said Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will also have to answer.

The BRS leader announced that they will meet the state Governor to demand a probe into the alleged scam and also approach the Lokayukta and pursue all available legal and constitutional remedies.

K.T. Rama Rao recalled that then Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was almost compelled to resign because of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam in which Chief Minister’s wife was allotted 3 acres of land.

K.T. Rama Rao said when BRS leader Krishank addressed a press conference on Tesseract, Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, claimed that this company has nothing to do with Kondal Reddy. “If he is not linked to the company, how was he given membership of the USIBF. In what capacity was he attending the meeting,” he asked.

The BRS leader showed a photograph of Kondal Reddy sitting next to US Counsel General and said a name plate kept in front of Kondal Reddy clearly mentions that he belongs to Tesseract. He claimed that the meeting itself was hosted by Tesseract.

“You talk about Indiramma Rajyam—is this Indiramma Rajyam? On the other hand, you talk about Praja Palana—is this Praja Palana where Revanth’s brothers Kondal Reddy, Tirupati Reddy, Jagadeesh Reddy, and his brother-in-law Srujan Reddy are all engaged today in securing contracts worth thousands of crores in the Telangana government? We will not let this issue go,” he claimed.

K.T. Rama Rao also reminded the BJP that a year ago BRS had filed a complaint about all of this. “Till date, there is no response from your side. What kind of understanding is there between you?,” he asked.
