Priyanka Chopra wishes late father Dr. Ashok Chopra a ‘heavenly birthday’ on his 76th birth anniversary
Mumbai, August 24 (IAN) Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas remembered her late father, Dr Ashok Chopra, on his birth anniversary on August 23.
She shared a throwback picture of him on her social media account with the words, “Happy heavenly birthday Papa.”
For the uninitiated, Priyanka has often spoken about the deep bond she shared with her father. She has described him as her biggest champion and loudest cheerleader. She also carries a permanent reminder of their relationship in the form of a tattoo on her forearm that reads “Daddy’s lil girl”, written in his handwriting.
Her wedding to Nick Jonas also carried a special tribute to her parents. For her Christian wedding ceremony in December 2018.
One of the most emotional public moments between Priyanka and her father was at the Awards in Vancouver.
The actress who won many awards for her iconic performance for Barfi, had dedicated the award to her father, who was battling serious health issues at the time.
He had walked onto the stage with her and jointly picked up the trophy.
Priyanka’s mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, is a physician who also served in the Indian Army before later supporting Priyanka’s career.
Ashok Chopra died in Mumbai on June 10, 2013, aged 62, following a prolonged battle with cancer.
On his 13th death anniversary in June, this year, Priyanka had shared a series of nostalgic pictures and heartfelt memories from different stages of her life moments spent with him.
Taking to her social media account, Priyanka posted a carousel of throwback pictures featuring cherished moments with her father.
Along with the images, she penned an emotional note that read, “You and me dancing together always. Miss u dad. You’re always here.. in every decision and every moment of life. Love you.”
