MP CM suspends 7 officials over delays in public services in Barwani

Bhopal/Barwani, Aug 14 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday ordered the suspension of seven officials for delays in providing government services and benefits to citizens during a district‑level grievance redressal programme held in Barwani under the ‘Mukhyamantri Jan‑Vishwas Abhiyan’.

The action followed the Chief Minister’s direct interaction with complainants, during which he reviewed cases involving delayed land mutation, housing assistance, welfare payments and livestock insurance.

Yadav ordered the immediate suspension of then‑Tehsildar Asha Parmar and Patwaris Mangilal Nargawe and Lalit Borse after finding that a land mutation case had remained pending for six years. The complainant, Ajay‑Lal of Rajpur tehsil, said he had applied for mutation of land following his father’s death in 2016, but the process was completed only in 2022. He had also complained about delayed registration and payment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Taking serious note of the delay, Yadav held the officials responsible for negligence. Parmar is currently posted as Deputy Collector in Dhar district.

In another case, the Chief Minister ordered the suspension of two former Chief Municipal Officers, Mayaram Solanki and Jagdish Dhakad, and Assistant Engineer Raju Dawar over delays in releasing instalments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Complainant Rupesh Sharma said he had applied under the housing scheme in 2019. Although geo‑tagging was completed in 2022 and the instalment process began in 2023, he received the first instalment only on August 10, after his house had already been constructed. Yadav also issued a show‑cause notice to S.K. Sinha, Joint Director, Urban Administration, Indore.

“The public should not be made to run from one government office to another for their rightful benefits. Any unnecessary delay in resolving grievances is unacceptable,” Yadav said.

The Chief Minister also ordered the suspension of Saurabh Singh Thakur, the then CEO of Janpad Panchayat, over a delay in providing funeral and ex‑gratia assistance under the Sambal Yojana. The complainant had applied for the assistance in April 2019, but had not received it. Officials found that 16 beneficiaries lower on the priority list had received assistance earlier.

Yadav ordered inquiries into delays in payments under the Mukhyamantri Bal Aashirwad Yojana and livestock insurance.

“Instructions for the suspension of a Tehsildar, two Patwaris, two Chief Municipal Officers, an Assistant Engineer, and a Chief Executive Officer of the Janpad Panchayat were issued,” according to a statement from the government late on Friday.
