IGNOU Regional Center Jabalpur organized a meeting on the above subject *today on 27 September 2024* under Hindi Pakhwada (14-30 September 2024). In which *Dr. Harish Kumar Sethi*, Director, Translation Studies and Training School, IGNOU New Delhi joined online as the keynote speaker.
Dr. Sethi, while highlighting the historical background of Hindi Rajbhasha Diwas to the students, informed them about the employment opportunities in various fields in Hindi at present. He also told that the number of speakers of Hindi and its dialects is very high in the whole of India and in the world. Hence, there is a constant need to translate the available knowledge and literature of other languages into Hindi language. For this reason, there is also ample workspace for skilled translators. He told that IGNOU’s Translation Studie and Training Vidyapeeth is offering educational programs related to translation from Hindi to English and between Indian languages to students. These are *MA-Translation Studies (MATS), PG Diploma Translation (PGDT), PG Diploma-Hindi-Sindhi-Hindi-Translation (PGDSHST)* etc.
The meeting was conducted by *Dr. Harish Kumar Kewat* Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Center Jabalpur, while giving information that apart from the above study programs related to Hindi translation and writing, other study programs like *MA-Hindi (MHD), MA-Hindi Professional Writing (MAHV), MA-Journalism and Mass Communication (MAJMC)/PG Diploma-Journalism and Mass Communication (PGJMC)* etc. are also available to make a good career in this field. In the *current July-23 session*, admissions to *all these and other diploma, PG diploma, undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree programs (except semester based)* are going on till 30 September 2024* and for more information, one can visit the IGNOU website *(https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/)*.
