Vasundhara Raje thanks PM Modi for two gifts to Rajasthan; confident about Jaipur Metro Phase 2

Jaipur, July 4 (IANS) Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vasundhara Raje on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for gifting Rajasthan two major development projects: the inauguration of the Pachpadra Refinery and the foundation stone laying of Jaipur Metro Phase 2.

Addressing a gathering during the programme linked to the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 foundation-laying ceremony, Raje said the Prime Minister has a proven track record of completing projects that he initiates.

“On behalf of all of us, I would like to thank the Prime Minister for giving Rajasthan such a major gift, not just one, but two today,” she said.

Recalling the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Pachpadra Refinery, Raje said she vividly remembered the massive public rally held in Barmer in January 2016.

“I remember that in January 2016, during a huge rally in Barmer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the refinery. One of his remarkable qualities is that whenever he starts a project, he normally ensures that it is completed,” she said.

Highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to infrastructure development, the former Chief Minister referred to the Jaipur Metro project and noted that Modi had laid the foundation stone for the first phase in 2015 and was now launching the next phase.

“He laid the foundation stone for the Metro project in 2015, and today he is laying the foundation stone for Metro Phase 2. I am confident that this project, too, will be completed within the next five years,” Raje said.

She emphasised the importance of Jaipur’s development, describing the state capital as the face of Rajasthan.

“Jaipur is not only the capital of Rajasthan but also the face of the state. Therefore, I extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister and congratulate him on behalf of all the people of Rajasthan,” she said.

Prime Minister Modi on Saturday virtually laid the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 project from Balotra while also dedicating the Pachpadra Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex to the nation.

The projects form part of a broader package of development initiatives worth over Rs 1.06 lakh crore launched during his visit to Rajasthan.
