Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu government on Monday ordered the transfer and posting of 15 Indian Police Service officers with immediate effect, assigning young officers to key rural and urban police subdivisions across the State.

According to a police note issued by the Home Department, Anjit A Nayar has been posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Thoothukudi Rural subdivision, while P Ankita will take charge of the Pattukottai subdivision in Thanjavur district.

S Aswini has been appointed ASP of Tiruchengode in Namakkal district, and Biswajit Panda has been assigned to the Tirunelveli Rural subdivision.

Chathriya Kavin DJ will serve as ASP of the Chidambaram subdivision in Cuddalore district, while S Inba has been posted to Thiruverumbur in Tiruchirappalli district.

The government has appointed P Manjima as ASP of the Dindigul Rural subdivision. Mannam Sujith Sampath will take charge of the Rasipuram subdivision in Namakkal district, while Neel Sharma has been posted as ASP of Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district.

K Nehaa has been assigned to the Ramanathapuram subdivision in Ramanathapuram district. Priyanka Bhargav will assume charge of the Nagapattinam subdivision, and Rahul V Gopal has been posted to the Tiruvannamalai Rural subdivision in Tiruvannamalai district.

Saindane Swapnila Anil has been appointed ASP of the Rajapalayam subdivision in Virudhunagar district.

Tanoo Singh will head the Oomachikulam subdivision in Madurai district.

In the only transfer involving an officer already holding a specified field assignment in the order, Ashish Puniya, presently ASP of the Karaikudi subdivision in Sivaganga district, has been posted as ASP of the Anna Nagar Range in Madurai City.

The reshuffle places officers in several strategically important jurisdictions, including rural belts, district headquarters and fast-growing urban centres.

Thoothukudi and Namakkal districts have received two officers each, while Madurai district and Madurai City have received one officer apiece.

The postings span 13 district and city police jurisdictions, reflecting a broad deployment across southern, central, coastal and western Tamil Nadu under the latest administrative exercise.

The appointments are expected to strengthen field-level supervision, crime prevention, investigation and public-order management at the subdivision and range levels.

ASPs oversee police stations within their respective jurisdictions, coordinate law-and-order arrangements and supervise the investigation of serious offences.

The order was issued through Police Note No. SC/38/2026 and signed by Additional Chief Secretary to the Government K Manivasan.
