Jaipur, July 18 (IANS) Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday inspected the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C) and the 1930 Cyber Helpline at the Police Headquarters, reviewing the state’s cybercrime response mechanism and directing officials to intensify efforts to curb online fraud.
Chairing a high‑level review meeting with senior police officials, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to launch extensive public awareness campaigns on cybercrime through social media, digital platforms and other communication channels.
He also directed that dedicated cyber awareness programmes be conducted in schools and colleges to educate students about online fraud. Emphasising the need for swift action, Sharma instructed officials to strengthen coordination with banks to ensure the immediate freezing of fraudulent accounts and to leverage modern technology and data analytics to accelerate the detection and prevention of cybercrime.
He further directed the police to take stringent action not only against cyber fraudsters but also against their illegally acquired assets, while warning that those who allow their bank accounts to be used for cybercrime must also face strict legal action.
The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to building a robust cyber security ecosystem and directed officials to provide a dedicated building for the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C) to strengthen its operations.
Police officials informed the Chief Minister that nearly 95 per cent of complaints received on the 1930 Cyber Helpline are now being registered and acted upon promptly. The helpline, which previously operated with 30 call lines, has now been expanded to 53 and operates in three shifts. Officials said the capacity will soon be increased to 60 lines, ensuring every cybercrime complaint is attended to without delay.
As of June 2026, both the helpline’s call‑handling capacity and response rates under the TCS and NCRP systems have shown significant improvement. Police also informed the Chief Minister that 412 e‑Zero FIRs have been registered in cyber fraud cases involving amounts exceeding Rs 5 lakh.
Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs has selected 54 Rajasthan Police personnel for specialised training in digital security and cyber investigation during 2026.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the success of statewide cybercrime enforcement drives, including Operation Vajra Prahar, Operation Cyber Shield, Operation Anti‑Virus and Operation Mule Hunter. These operations have resulted in the arrest of cybercriminals, recovery and refund of defrauded money to victims, and large‑scale blocking of suspicious SIM cards and mobile IMEI numbers.
Following the Chief Minister’s directions, a Special State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting will be held on July 21 under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to strengthen coordination between banks and cyber police for faster action against cyber fraud.
The Chief Minister announced Rs 100 crore in the 2026–27 Rajasthan Budget to establish the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C). Following this allocation, the centre has become operational at the Police Headquarters, while work is progressing on a state‑of‑the‑art AI‑enabled call centre for the 1930 Cyber Helpline.
