Bhopal, Aug 17 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given Madhya Pradesh a prominent role in its new national organisational team, with eight leaders from the state assigned key responsibilities.

The appointments strengthen the state’s representation in the party’s national decision-making and organisational structure.

Former Madhya Pradesh minister and senior Dalit leader Lal Singh Arya has been appointed National Vice President. Arya, an MLA from Gohad, also served as national president of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha.

Khargone MP Gajendra Singh Patel, serving his second consecutive term in the Lok Sabha, has been appointed National General Secretary. Patel has held responsibilities in the BJP’s Scheduled Tribe Morcha and the state unit.

Rajya Sabha MP Kavita Patidar has been named National Secretary. Patidar earlier served as president of the Indore district panchayat and as a state BJP general secretary before entering the Rajya Sabha in 2022.

Khajuraho MP Vishnu Dutt Sharma, who headed the Madhya Pradesh BJP for over five years, has been appointed National Convener of the party’s Cell Cluster. Sharma has also served as an organisational leader through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad before taking up key responsibilities in the BJP.

Rajya Sabha MP Bansilal Gurjar has been entrusted with the role of National President of the Kisan Morcha. Gurjar, a prominent farmer leader, has previously headed the BJP’s farmers’ wing in Madhya Pradesh.

The state’s organisational network is also represented by Ashish Usha Agrawal, appointed National Co‑convener (Media). Agrawal has been associated with the Madhya Pradesh BJP’s media and communication activities.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership, he said he would work with “full dedication and commitment” to take the party’s ideology, policies and government welfare initiatives to the people.

The other two leaders from Madhya Pradesh in the new national set‑up are Saudan Singh, appointed National Joint General Secretary (Organisation), and Tarun Chugh, Rajya Sabha MP, who has been given charge of the National Office.

The appointments give Madhya Pradesh representation in several key organisational verticals of the BJP, bringing together leaders with experience in electoral politics, social outreach, organisational work, farmers’ issues and media management.
