According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, the state had a total of 5,54,32,314 registered electors as of June 16, 2026. Enumeration Forms have been printed and supplied to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for distribution as part of the revision exercise.

The house-to-house enumeration and digitisation process commenced on June 30 and will continue until July 29.

The CEO’s office said a total of 1,12,65,893 Enumeration Forms, accounting for 20.32 per cent of the electorate, had been distributed to voters so far. Of these, 6,12,618 Enumeration Forms, or 1.11 per cent of the total electorate, have already been digitised.

In addition, 37,783 electors have submitted their Enumeration Forms online, accounting for 0.07 per cent of the electorate.

During the ongoing verification exercise, election officials have also identified 7,582 electors under the “Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate or Otherwise” (ASDDO) category.

The revision process has so far recorded 97 untraceable or absent electors, 2,637 permanently shifted electors, 3,967 deceased electors, and 821 persons who were found to have already been enrolled elsewhere. Another 60 cases have been categorised under “Others”.

The Election Commission has urged eligible voters to cooperate with Booth Level Officers during the ongoing house-to-house verification and ensure that their Enumeration Forms are submitted before the July 29 deadline.

The Special Intensive Revision will continue until July 29. The draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, followed by a period for claims and objections until September 4. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 7.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday launched Karnataka’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by filling out his own Enumeration Form at his Sadashivanagar residence and urged all eligible voters to complete the exercise to safeguard their voting rights.

He underlined that voter registration was key to accessing government benefits.

Booker Prize-winning Kannada author Banu Mushtaq on Tuesday said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls was a simple and straightforward exercise, adding that her experience had dispelled fears that it was intended to harass citizens.

She also appealed to officials to patiently guide the public through the enumeration process.
