Double-engine governance, industrial policies driving Gujarat’s global appeal: Minister

Dahod, June 19 (IANS) Gujarat has emerged as a destination centre for the world owing to its industrial policies and the support of the double-engine government, Dahod district in-charge minister Arjun Modhwadia said on Friday while addressing the district-level programme of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit.

The event was held under Modhwadia’s chairmanship and was attended by Minister of State, Ramesh Katara, senior government officials, elected representatives, industrialists, traders and students.

MoUs were also signed between the state government and industrial units proposed to be established in Dahod district under ‘Vibrant Gujarat 2026’.

Addressing the gathering, Modhwadia said Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem and infrastructure had helped position the state as an attractive investment destination.

“With industrial policies and the double-engine government, Gujarat has become a destination centre for the entire world,” he said.

He said the state had developed high-quality infrastructure across both urban and rural areas and cited Dholera as an example of planned industrial development.

Referring to Dahod’s future growth, he said the district’s progress depended on the advancement of every household, citizen, family and farmer.

“To build a developed Dahod, the development of every household, citizen, family and farmer in Dahod is essential,” Modhwadia said.

He urged collective efforts to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat@2047” and said entrepreneurship, start-ups and fresh investment would play a crucial role in strengthening the district’s economy.

“Industrialists should take the initiative to help Dahod establish itself as a recognised destination for investment and industry,” he asserted.

Minister Ramesh Katara said Dahod had witnessed considerable progress in recent years and that government assistance was reaching people across the district.

“Compared to earlier times, Dahod district is witnessing significant development. People are receiving all forms of government assistance and the district is moving forward in sectors such as education and healthcare,” Katara said.

During the programme, approval letters were distributed to seven beneficiaries by Modhwadia and Katara. The assistance provided exceeded Rs 54 lakh.

Earlier in the day, Modhwadia inaugurated a Panchvati Development Centre constructed by the Social Forestry Department at Khirkhai village in Limkheda taluka of Dahod district.

A meeting was subsequently held under the chairmanship of Modhwadia and Katara, during which the minister addressed forest department officials, staff members and villagers and provided guidance on various matters.

As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, participants planted saplings within the Panchvati Development Centre premises.
