UP govt transfers 17 IAS Officers in major late-night administrative reshuffle

Lucknow, Aug 24 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 17 IAS officers and changing the responsibilities of several senior bureaucrats across the state.

The reshuffle includes key appointments at the divisional commissioner level, the Revenue Council, development departments and the state secretariat.

One of the most significant changes involves Aligarh and Moradabad divisions. Sangeeta Singh, who was serving as Divisional Commissioner, Aligarh, has been transferred and appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Moradabad. She replaces IAS officer Anjaneya Kumar Singh, whose deputation ended on August 14. Following the completion of his deputation, Anjaneya Kumar Singh has been repatriated to his parent cadre, Sikkim.

Om Prakash Arya, who was serving as Member (Judicial) at the Revenue Council in Prayagraj, has been appointed the new Divisional Commissioner of Aligarh.

Another important change has been made in the Ayush and Rural Development departments. Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi, who was serving as Commissioner, Rural Development and Secretary, Rural Development Department, has been appointed Director General, Ayush, as well as Mission Director, National Ayush Mission, Uttar Pradesh.

Pramod Kumar Upadhyay, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, has been appointed Commissioner, Rural Development, Uttar Pradesh.

In another key change, Ravindra Kumar has been posted as Secretary, Urban Development Department. He has been relieved of the additional charge of Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban), and State Mission Director, AMRUT.

Dr Raj Shekhar, who was Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural), has been appointed Secretary, Planning Department, and Director General, Economics and Statistics. Yogesh Kumar, Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperation, will now serve as MD, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural).

Other changes include Devendra Kumar Pandey, who has been posted as Special Secretary, Consumer Affairs Department, from the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch. Vivek Srivastava, Secretary, Lucknow Development Authority, has been appointed Special Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department.

Amrit Tripathi, Secretary, Higher Education Department, has been appointed Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj. Om Prakash Rai, who was serving as Member (Judicial), Revenue Council, Prayagraj, has been posted as Special Secretary, Higher Education Department.

The latest reshuffle marks another significant reorganisation of the state’s senior administrative machinery, with several officers being moved to key field and departmental assignments.
