New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) As suggested by Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) T.S. Sandhu, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has planned a major outreach initiative over the Master Plan for Delhi-2047 by proposing 20 stakeholder meetings over the next three months, an official said on Sunday.

The DDA, whose chairperson is the L-G, would engage directly with elected representatives, government agencies, professional bodies, industry, residents, landowners and other stakeholders on the implementation of the MPD-2047, the official said in a statement.

The meetings will provide a platform for focused interaction on various provisions of MPD-2047 and facilitate greater coordination and participation in translating the Plan’s vision into action, it added.

As part of the outreach, the DDA will also interact with MPs and MLAs on the major provisions of MPD-2047, including Transit Oriented Development (TOD), High Density Corridors (HDC), Land Pooling and Low Density Areas (LDA).

Separate interactions will also be held with government agencies and service providers to strengthen coordination for implementation of the Plan, the statement said.

Industry bodies and chambers, including CII, FICCI, PHD Chamber, ASSOCHAM and DSIIDC, will be engaged on measures for promoting industrial development and facilitating availability of land for industry, it added.

Architects, planners, professional institutions and private-sector stakeholders will also be involved in discussions on TOD, HDC, Land Pooling and other development opportunities envisaged under MPD-2047.

The DDA will reach out to RWAs, Group Housing Societies, Cooperative Group Housing Societies and other stakeholders on redevelopment of Group Housing.

For Land Pooling, interactions with farmers, landowners and local stakeholders will be undertaken through area-based meetings.

“The outreach programme will also cover Low Density Areas; rejuvenation of the Yamuna and development of Delhi’s blue-green network; heritage conservation; mixed-use development; development and redevelopment of commercial centres; in-situ slum redevelopment; and measures for decongestion and improved mobility,” the statement said.

Focused stakeholder interactions are also proposed on developing Delhi’s education and medical hubs, with participation from educational institutions, universities, healthcare institutions and other concerned stakeholders.

Through this extensive outreach exercise, the DDA aims to build greater awareness about the opportunities available under MPD-2047, strengthen coordination among implementing agencies and encourage active participation of citizens and stakeholders in shaping Delhi’s development over the coming decades.
