Visakhapatnam, Aug 18 (IANS) BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday accused the opposition of promoting anti-social elements in the country and said BJP will respond firmly to the kind of language the Leader of the Opposition has used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the meeting of the extended executive of BJP’s Andhra Pradesh unit here, he alleged that Congress is repeatedly insulting democratic institutions.

“We also need to keep today’s political situation in mind. Today, we are faced with an opposition that has such a mindset, which is trying to promote anti-social elements in the country,” he said.

He slammed the Opposition for their attitude in the Parliament and targeted Congress leaders for their behaviour on Independence Day. He alleged that the Opposition, especially Congress, insulted country’s democracy.

“BJP workers are known for their dignity and values, but the way the Leader of the Opposition has used words for PM Modi, we must give a sharp response while staying within our dignity,” he said.

He claimed that the BJP has a vision that seeks to promote social harmony and remarked that unfortunately, the Opposition has taken a different path, with the Congress repeatedly insulting democratic institutions.

Calling Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi a part-time politician, the BJP chief alleged that he focuses only on issues that divert attention from matters of faith and development.

Nitin Nabin called for engaging with the youth who want to discuss their aspirations and concerns. He also emphasised the need to address aspirations and expectations of the young generation.

“Today, young people have opportunities to advance in different sectors. We must engage in dialogue with the youth who want to discuss their aspirations and concerns. We must address the aspirations and expectations of this young generation,” he said.

The BJP chief claimed that the government has created new opportunities through initiatives such as Make in India and several other schemes.

“Youth means being committed to nation-building. Bharat’s youth are not merely seeking jobs; through startups, they are creating jobs and opportunities for others,” he said.

He urged the party leaders to take the government’s schemes, its achievements and the party’s programmes directly to the people through continuous dialogue. “As long as we maintain dialogue, contact and a strong connection with the people, we will continue to succeed in contributing to the development of Bharat and the growth of the BJP,” he said.

The BJP president said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India is progressing in every sector. “Today, infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 8 lakh crore are underway. In the coming years, PM Modi’s vision is to develop Bharat not only with world-class infrastructure but also as a global manufacturing hub.”

He stated that PM Modi is committed to realising the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’, embracing Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s nationalism, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s ‘Antyodaya’, and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s good governance.

The BJP chief also had a meeting with State Office Bearers, district presidents and District In-charges, along with State BJP president P.V.N. Madhav.

The discussion focused on strengthening the organisation and ensuring effective coordination and public outreach across the state.

Nitin Nabin said that Andhra Pradesh is a distinct state that is leading the country on the development front. “This is our collective effort, and we must take it forward. Only through continuous dialogue and engagement with the people can we ensure that the government’s schemes reach every citizen,” he said.

The BJP chief, who hoisted the party flag, said that it reminds them of their collective responsibility to uphold the ideals and values of the party with dedication, discipline and a spirit of service, while working tirelessly towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

He also visited the State BJP’s exhibition. The vibrant display captured one full year of the party’s organisational journey across all 28 districts, highlighting public service initiatives, steady expansion, and the tireless dedication of karyakartas, Nitin Nabin said.
