Patna, Aug 16 (IANS) Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav hit out at the state government on Sunday over the “deteriorating” law and order condition in the state and claimed that competitive examinations were being marred by paper leaks and series of irregularities.

He also demanded answers from state government on the alleged flaunting and firing of bullets from AK-47 gun by the police, on the students agitating against paper leaks in Siwan, last month.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) National Working President while speaking to news reporters said that his party will launch a march to the Raj Bhavan on August 19 to put pressure on the state government and raise the grievances of students and the youth before the Governor.

Tejashwi said that Bihar is gaining a bad reputation due to recurring paper leak incidents.

He alleged that complaints regarding paper leaks have surfaced across various examinations in the state, ranging from matriculation and intermediate exams to recruitment tests.

Referring to the Siwan incident, Tejashwi claimed that when students were struggling for their rights in Siwan, the state government instead of lending an ear to their cause, chose to fire bullets with AK-47 gun.

He demanded to know who ordered the firing on the protesting students.

He said that the matter has been escalated with Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, demanding as to why the state government failed to fix accountability.

He added that not only a single Constable has been dismissed in connection with the case, while no action has been taken against other responsible officials.

He also said that the march to Raj Bhavan will see students, teachers, pupils from coaching institutes, and all those frustrated with examination and employment systems lending their voice against the opaque system.

He also invited leaders from other states to participate in the open march.

Hitting out at the state government over one crore jobs promise, the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the BJP-led state government did not even provide one lakh jobs.

He targeted the state government over the liquor ban as well, claiming that liquor prohibition has completely failed, with even home delivery of alcohol taking place.

He remarked that while the Bihar government claims that the ban is in force, the ground reality is far different.
