Zaid Darbar on working with father Ismail Darbar: ‘It’s something I’ll always cherish’
Mumbai, Aug 11 (IANS) Actor-dancer Zaid Darbar has opened up about the experience of working alongside his father, veteran music composer Ismail Darbar.
Reflecting on their professional association, Zaid shared how meaningful the experience has been for him and said it is a memory he will always cherish. Speaking about the song, Zaid told IANS “There are some projects that become a part of your heart even before they reach the audience, and ‘Uss Khuda Se’ is exactly that for me. Working with my father on this song is something I’ll always cherish.”
“I have grown up watching him create music, so getting the opportunity to bring my own vision to a song composed by him is incredibly special. We have put our heart and soul into this one, and I genuinely hope people feel the emotion behind it.”
Ismail Darbar added, “Music has always been a language of emotion for me, and ‘Uss Khuda Se’ came from a very honest place. Working with Zaid was special because I wasn’t just working with a director, I was working with my son. Watching him bring his perspective and understanding to the song made this experience very memorable for me.”
“Every artist has a certain sound that stays with them, no matter how much time passes. ‘Uss Khuda Se’ took me back to that space where melody, emotion and the purity of the music matter the most. I wanted to return with something that felt honest and came from the heart, rather than simply making music for the sake of a release.”
The veteran music composer went on to mention, “This song is very close to me because it brings me back to the kind of music I have always believed in. For me, ‘Uss Khuda Se’ is not just a comeback it is a return to my roots, my sound and the emotion that has always connected me to my audience.”
Titled “Uss Khuda Se”, the track brings together Zaid Darbar and his father, veteran composer Ismail Darbar, for a special musical collaboration. While Zaid has directed the song, Ismail has composed the track.
