BRICS tourism meetings in Jaipur from Aug 19; directives issued to depts
Jaipur, Aug 10 (IANS) A review meeting was held on Monday at the Government Secretariat regarding preparations for the international BRICS Tourism Meetings, scheduled to take place in Jaipur from August 19 to 22, under India’s BRICS presidency.
The meeting was chaired by Naveen Jain, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department.
While reviewing preparations for the four‑day event, Jain issued directives to the concerned departments. He emphasised that all relevant departments must ensure coordination and complete preparations within the stipulated timeframe to guarantee successful and organised execution.
He directed that there should be no lapses at any level regarding security, hospitality and other arrangements.
The Principal Secretary stated that, alongside host nation India, tourism ministers, policymakers and senior diplomats from Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates will participate in the conference.
The State Government has designated the Tourism Department as the nodal agency for the successful conduct of the event. The department is working in coordination with the Union Ministry of Tourism and various state administrative, police and civic bodies.
Jain outlined the schedule for the BRICS Tourism Meetings in Jaipur: the inaugural session of the 2nd BRICS Tourism Working Group meeting will take place on August 19, featuring deliberations on and finalisation of the ‘Zero Draft,’ as well as bilateral meetings.
The 1st BRICS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting will be held on August 21, during which the ‘Zero Draft’ will be adopted. A special programme for the delegations will be organised on August 22. Senior officials from the General Administration Department and other concerned departments were present at the review meeting.
