Gujarat CM urges citizens to turn ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ into ‘Har Dil Tiranga’ at state-level event
Gandhinagar, Aug 10 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, on Monday urged citizens to turn the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign into a mass movement of patriotism, calling for it to become ‘Har Dil Tiranga’ as he flagged off a 2.4-km Tiranga Yatra in Gandhinagar.
The state-level procession, organised by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and the district administration, began at G-6 Circle and concluded at Akshardham Temple. A large number of students, young people and residents took part in it carrying the Tricolour.
The Tiranga Yatra is being organised across the country from August 9 to 17, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the stated aim of encouraging citizens to contribute towards the nation.
Addressing the gathering before flagging off the procession, Patel said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign had been launched to celebrate India’s hard-won freedom and keep alive the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
He said the Tiranga Yatra represented the unity and integrity of the country and that citizens participating with the Tricolour in their hands and patriotism in their hearts would contribute to the vision of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’.
“The essence of the Tiranga Yatra is to help today’s generation understand the sacrifices and dedication of the freedom fighters, draw inspiration from their lives and nurture a ‘Nation First’ spirit,” Patel said.
He called upon citizens to use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to building a developed India by 2047.
“We have the opportunity to dedicate ourselves to the nation and take India to new heights of glory, and this opportunity must be fulfilled with a ‘Nation First’ resolve,” the Chief Minister said.
The procession featured cultural programmes, a police band and Nashik dhol performances, while the Gujarat Police Department’s ‘Daredevils Show’ drew the attention of the crowd.
Patel flagged off the yatra in the presence of Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, Education Minister Pradyuman Vaja, MLAs and senior government officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das.
Gandhinagar Mayor Mira Patel described the National Flag as a symbol of the country’s pride, unity, integrity and valour.
“The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was fostering patriotism among citizens and called on participants to strengthen the ‘Nation First’ resolve and reaffirm their commitment to national unity and integrity,” she added.
The yatra brought together residents, students and youth along its route, with the Tricolour forming a prominent feature of the 2.4-km procession through the state capital.
