Imphal, Aug 7 (IANS) Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Friday appreciated the officers who rendered their services with dedication even during the challenging years of ethnic violence in the state.

The Chief Minister launched eight online portals and the “LR Manipur” mobile application of the Land Resources Department at Palace Compound in Imphal.

Addressing the gathering, Khemchand Singh highlighted the difficulties previously faced by the Land Resources Department in managing land records dating back more than 50 years, some of which were in a dilapidated condition.

He said that these difficulties would be significantly addressed with the introduction of the online portals and the mobile application, which would facilitate more efficient and transparent management of land records.

Khemchand Singh appreciated Land Resources Department Secretary Kiran Kumar Singh and his dedicated team for undertaking the transformative initiatives and for documenting and maintaining land records in digital format with greater transparency and accountability.

Thanking the officers and officials of the Land Resources Department, the Chief Minister said that those who continued to discharge their duties with dedication even during the challenging years of ethnic hostilities deserved high appreciation.

He said that the launch of the online portals and the mobile application would enable the department to maintain and manage land records in a more transparent and efficient manner. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of adopting digital technology to improve public services and make government processes more accessible to citizens.

The eight online portals launched on Friday include the Permission for Registration Portal, Change of Land Use Portal, Allotment of Land Portal, Land Acquisition Portal, GIS-based Management of Villages Portal, Single Digital Gateway, Revenue Court Case Management System (RCCMS) and Online Payment of Land Revenue through Loucha Pathap.

The digital initiatives are expected to streamline various land-related services, reduce procedural difficulties and improve the accessibility of land records and services for citizens.

The launch programme was attended by Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh, Art and Culture, Tourism Minister Loken Khuraijam Singh, Secretary, Land Resources Department Kiran Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Sub-Deputy Collectors (SDCs), among others.
