Three interstate auto-lifters arrested; 3 stolen bikes recovered by Delhi Police
New Delhi, Aug 7 (IANS) Delhi Police have arrested three members of an interstate gang and recovered three stolen bikes, successfully solving three vehicle theft cases linked to the national capital and Haryana.
According to the staff of Police Station Sector-23, Dwarka, the operation led to the dismantling of a gang involved in stealing motorcycles from Delhi and concealing them in Haryana before using or disposing of them. The arrests and recoveries were made following a focused investigation into a motorcycle theft reported earlier this month.
The case originated with the registration of e-FIR No. 015796/2026 under Section 305(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Sector-23, Dwarka. The complainant reported that his motorcycle had been stolen from outside Sedhofax Warehouse in Bamnoli, Sector-28, Dwarka, between 12:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on July 9.
Acting on the directions of Dwarka District DCP Kushal Pal Singh and under the supervision of ACP Dwarka Subdivision Kishore Kumar and SHO Inspector Bijender Chillar, a dedicated police team was formed. The team comprised Head Constable Mukesh, ASI Mangtu Ram, HC Sher Singh, HC Vicky and Constable Sachin.
During the investigation, police carried out extensive CCTV analysis, technical surveillance and local intelligence gathering. Around 50 to 60 CCTV cameras were examined along the route from the theft location in Bamnoli to Village Pada in Tauru, Haryana. Based on local enquiries and surveillance inputs, the suspect was identified as Nitin, a resident of Village Pada in Nuh district, Haryana.
Subsequently, police received specific information that the accused was planning to sell the stolen motorcycle. Acting on the tip-off, the team laid a trap in Village Pada and apprehended Nitin.
During interrogation, Nitin disclosed that he and his associate Manraj Bheel had stolen the motorcycle and that the vehicle was being concealed by his brother Rohit alias Michu, who intended to sell it. Acting on this information, police recovered the stolen motorcycle from Rohit’s possession in Village Pada.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Manraj and Rohit. During questioning, all three accused allegedly admitted to forming a gang that stole motorcycles to arrange money for liquor and narcotic substances. They revealed that after stealing vehicles from Delhi, they would hide them in Haryana and use them to facilitate further thefts.
Based on their disclosures and sustained interrogation, police recovered three stolen motorcycles and solved three vehicle theft cases, including two registered in Dwarka and one in Gurugram, Haryana.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nitin (24), Manraj Bheel (30), and Rohit alias Michu (22). Police said none of the accused had any previous criminal involvement on record.
The recovered vehicles have been seized, and further investigation is underway. Police officials said the operation reflects their continued efforts to curb vehicle theft and dismantle organised criminal networks operating across state borders.
