Mumbai, June 27 (IANS) Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra took a trip down memory lane as his romantic thriller ‘Ek Villain’ completed 12 years since its release.
Marking the milestone, the actor took to social media to celebrate the film that remains one of the biggest and in his words most ‘special’ highlights of his career.
Sidharth shared a video montage comprising some of the most memorable scenes and songs from ‘Ek Villain’. The montage was accompanied by the movie’s iconic track ‘Teri Galiyan’.
Sharing the video on his social media account, Sidharth wrote, ‘This one has always been special! #12YearsToEkVillain’ along with a red heart emoji.
For the uninitiated, the movie which released on June 27, 2014, was directed by Mohit Suri and jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The film starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in pivotal roles.
It also starred Isha Koppikar in a cameo role.
The action-romantic thriller revolved around Guru (Sidharth Malhotra), a reformed gangster whose peaceful life with Aisha (Shraddha Kapoor) is shattered after she becomes the target of a serial killer.
Riteish Deshmukh, who devoted as an antagonist in the movies, had surprised audiences by stepping away from his comic image to portray the ruthless serial killer.
The film’s soundtrack also became immensely popular, with songs such as ‘Teri Galiyan’, ‘Galliyan Returns’, ‘Banjaara’, ‘Awari’ and ‘Humdard’ continuing to enjoy a loyal fan following.
Talking about Sidharth Malhotra, the actor who made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012, went on to be a part of movies like, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, ‘Brothers’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘A Gentleman’, ‘Shershaah’, ‘Mission Majnu’, ‘Yodha’ and ‘Thank God’, among others.
On the personal front, Sidharth married actress Kiara Advani in February 2023 after the two fell in love while working together on the sets of the movie ‘Shershaah’. The couple embraced parenthood, last year, after welcoming their first child, a daughter.
