Tej Pratap Yadav alleges assassination conspiracy, files FIR against former aide Akash Yadav

Patna, June 20 (IANS) Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) Chief and former Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday alleged a conspiracy to assassinate him as well as his father and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and has lodged a police complaint against his former aide Akash Yadav and several others.

According to the complaint filed at the Secretariat police station in Patna, Tej Pratap alleged that Akash Yadav, his sister Anushka Yadav, and other family members had conspired to kill both him and his ailing father.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Tej Pratap said that an FIR had been registered against Akash Yadav, Anushka Yadav, and six others.

He alleged that they were attempting to damage his public image and were involved in a conspiracy against his family.

“My father, Lalu Prasad, is ill. They are conspiring to kill both my father and me,” Tej Pratap said during the press conference in Patna.

He also appealed to the Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to ensure adequate security for him and his family.

The controversy has roots in Tej Pratap’s earlier public claims regarding his relationship with Anushka Yadav.

At the time, he had said that he was in a relationship with Anushka Yadav despite already being married.

After the incident, Lalu Prasad Yadav announced disciplinary action against his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav and distanced him from party activities.

Subsequently, Tej Pratap claimed that the social media post related to the matter had been made after his online account was allegedly hacked and described the incident as a “misunderstanding”.

Before Tej Pratap filed his complaint, Akash Yadav had approached the Patliputra police station in Patna with allegations against the JJD Chief.

According to Akash Yadav, Tej Pratap and his aides attempted to forcibly enter his residence on the pretext of meeting family members.

He also alleged that he had received a threatening call from a US-based number, with the caller claiming links to an imprisoned gangster.

Tej Pratap has denied these allegations and described them as “fabricated” and “politically motivated”.

The JJD Chief has also hinted at a larger political conspiracy behind the alleged threats.

He claimed that Akash Yadav could be working in coordination with political opponents to target him.

At present, both sides have filed complaints, and the matter is under police investigation.

Authorities are expected to examine the allegations, counter-allegations, and available evidence before reaching any conclusions regarding the alleged threats and conspiracy claims.
